Jill's Story

Birth of a Cake Maker

In 2009, Jill Tetangco started making cakes. Blame a childhood of baking cookies. Blame Ace of Cakes, a reality television show that followed a cake shop for roughly a decade. Blame a sweet tooth, a desk job, a latent artistic ability, and a desire to do something more.

The process of creating a specialty cake is not as easy as one might think. At times, Jill will spend days on a cake. Chocolate shoes? Those take a couple of weeks. A wedding cake made from books? Three full days. The key to a successful cake lay within the details.

“Everyone was making a big deal over something, and all I saw were a stack of books. Then, I realized. Those weren’t books. They were the wedding cake! I thought they were real!”

- Dr. Marisa P. Clark, the officiant at the wedding

Cake type, cake shape, whatever the idea, whatever the theme, Jill makes her cakes with a whole lot of care and a whole lot of love. And all at a reasonable price. When it comes to cakes, how could it get any better than that?
